Easthampton High School

With the construction of Easthampton's new high school came an emphasis on the use of green systems throughout the building.  Students can learn about the systems and follow performance on an interactive green screen inside the building.

The green approach extends outside of the building's footprint as well with a series of swales and retention areas located throughout the parking lot.  Gaps in the curbing allow water from the parking lot surface to pass into areas planted with a variety of small trees, shrubs, and perennials.   If flows are extreme, they can overflow from basins into raised inlet structures that are directed to pipes in the City's existing stormwater infrastructure.
